Inauguration Ceremony Marks a New Chapter in Improving Access to Clean Water and Sanitation
Phum Ong, Cambodia – 2 August 2026 — Kompong Dewa Foundation proudly celebrated the successful completion and official handover of four Deep Wells and Restroom Facilities to the residents of Phum Ong during an inauguration and ribbon-cutting ceremony held on 2 August 2026. The event marks the completion of a project that began with the groundbreaking ceremony on 31 May 2026 and reflects the Foundation’s continued commitment to improving community well-being through sustainable development initiatives.
The handover ceremony signifies more than the completion of infrastructure, it represents the beginning of a new chapter for the people of Phum Ong, who now have improved access to clean water and safe sanitation facilities that will contribute to healthier living conditions and a better quality of life for years to come.
A Milestone of Collaboration and Shared Commitment
The inauguration ceremony brought together village leaders, local authorities, community representatives, contractor partners, volunteers, and the management team of Kompong Dewa Resorts in a celebration of partnership, shared responsibility, and community empowerment.
Celebrating a Promise Fulfilled
The formal ceremony opened with welcoming remarks by Mr. Or Phorn, Village Chief of Phum Ong, he stated that “My sincere appreciation to Kompong Dewa Foundation and Kompong Dewa Resort for their generosity and commitment to supporting the community. I would have highlighted the significant impact the project will have on improving daily life for local families, particularly through reliable access to clean groundwater and hygienic sanitation facilities.”
Representing the company, Mr. Tommy P. Mermawan, Chief Executive Officer, reaffirmed the organization’s vision of creating sustainable value beyond business by investing in initiatives that directly improve the lives of neighbouring communities.
In his remarks, Mr. Tommy P. Hermawan addressed that “It is a great honor to officially hand over these four (4) deep wells and four (4) restroom facilities to the people of Phum Ong.
This project reflects the commitment of the Kompong Dewa Foundation to support community development and improve the quality of life, guided by our tagline, “HAPPY PEOPLE, HAPPY COMMUNITY.” We hope these facilities will provide clean water, better sanitation, and lasting benefits for everyone.

Official Inauguration and Community Handover
A key highlight of the ceremony was the official ribbon-cutting and inauguration of the Deep Well and Restroom Facilities, led by Kompong Dewa Resorts’ management together with village leaders and distinguished guests. The symbolic ceremony marked the formal opening of the facilities for public use and represented the successful completion of a shared vision between the Foundation and the community.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, representatives of Kompong Dewa Foundation officially handed over the completed facilities to the Village Chief and community representatives, signifying the community’s ownership and responsibility for maintaining and preserving the facilities for the benefit of present and future generations.
Guests were then invited on a guided tour of the newly completed deep wells and restroom facilities to witness firsthand the quality of the completed project and its readiness to serve the community.
