Phum Ong, Cambodia – 31 May 2026 — Kompong Dewa Resorts officially marked a significant milestone in its community development efforts with the groundbreaking ceremony of the Kompong Dewa Foundation’s Deep Well and Rest Room Project in Phum Ong. The initiative underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to improving quality of life, promoting sustainable development, and supporting the long-term well-being of neighbouring communities.
A Celebration of Partnership and Community
The ceremony brought together village leaders, Buddhist monks, local stakeholders, landowners, contractor partners, and members of the Kompong Dewa Resorts team in a gathering that reflected the spirit of collaboration, shared responsibility, and community progress. Preparations for the event began early in the morning, with the Kompong Dewa team working closely alongside village representatives to ensure the successful coordination of site arrangements and ceremonial activities. Guests were welcomed to a thoughtfully prepared venue that served as the setting for a meaningful day of reflection and commitment.
The program began with a traditional Buddhist blessing ceremony led by local monks, offering prayers for the project’s success, community well-being, and continued partnership between Kompong Dewa Resorts and the residents of Phum Ong. The ceremony symbolized hope and unity as the project moves forward. Guests then gathered for refreshments and fellowship, strengthening connections among community members, local authorities, and the Kompong Dewa team.
Shortly after the blessing ceremonies and refreshments, the second part of the program was opened with remarks from Phum Ong Village Chief Mr. Or Phorn, who introduced the community and thanked Kompong Dewa Resorts for its support.
Representing CEO Mr. Paulus Hermawan, CHRO Ms. Angioline Villanueva highlighted the company’s commitment to sustainable community development and outlined the benefits of the Deep Well and Rest Room Project. The event concluded with a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony led by Corporate Head of Engineering Mr. Nuvianto Widyatmoko, together with village representatives, company leaders, landowners, and stakeholders, officially marking the start of construction.
